The Non-Resident Importer
(NRI) Program
Our experienced Customs Brokers & Consultants can guide foreign businesses and importers through the NRI Program in order to take advantage of streamlined trade processes with Canada and reduced costs.
The Non-Resident Importer Program
A Non-Resident Importer (NRI) is a business based outside Canada that imports goods into Canada without a physical presence in the country, acting as the Importer of Record.
The Non-Resident Importer (NRI) Program, run by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), enables international exporters to sell directly to Canadian customers on a delivered-price basis, enjoying the same benefits as Canadian importers.
Registering as an NRI offers several advantages:
- Greater control over your supply chain
- Reduced supply chain costs
- Improved competitiveness in the Canadian market
- Better service for Canadian customers
